During the pandemic, many homes were auctioned off due to being behind on their property taxes. Most of the people affected are African-Americans in impoverished areas. So, people are worried this is due to racial discrimination, but the law is much more complicated than that. Tax lawyer Jack Turner, talks to Action News 5 about what the trustee’s powers are and the county’s rights in this situation.
