Jack Turner

Senior Attorney

I’m excited to return to a firm where I can help businesses better themselves. I’m passionate about helping develop better business people, while solving their legal issues and disputes.

About

A Memphis native, Jack Turner joined the firm in 2022.  Jack is a 1989 ECS graduate who went on to earn a B.A. in History from Millsaps College and a J.D. from the University of Alabama.  After law school, Jack worked in Washington for U.S. Rep. Zach Wamp of Chattanooga, and then worked on several campaigns in Mississippi.  Tired of being unemployed the day after Election Day, Jack put his law degree to conventional use and began practicing in the Memphis area in 1999.

In that time Jack Turner has focused his practice on civil litigation, employment lawbusiness formation, and real estate.  He is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Mississippi.  He has also handled criminal cases on the defense side and has served as a prosecutor for the cities of Horn Lake and Southaven.  He worked for Shelby County for several years, as an Assistant County Attorney handling Government Tort Liability Act cases, property tax litigation, civil service appeals, and most enjoyably, as Parliamentarian for the Shelby County Commission.  For two years he served as a Delinquent Tax Attorney for the Office of the Shelby County Trustee.  For Jack, the most rewarding part of practicing law is helping clients navigate what is often a difficult and confusing process to a good conclusion.

Jack Turner is married to Dr. Lavinia Dumitrache, and is the proud father of three children.  He is an active member of St. John Orthodox Christian Church.  He is also active in the Shelby County Republican Party and is a Past President of the Touchdown Club of Memphis.  In his free time, he enjoys Alabama football, reading (especially history), movies, hiking, cooking and travel.  He collects memorabilia of the Warsaw Pact countries and is learning to speak Romanian.
