Mayor Jim Strickland has named attorney Alan Crone to be the chairman of the Memphis Sports Authority. Alan is honored to be named chairman to the Sports Authority. As a proud Memphian and Memphis State University alumnus, Alan has always supported Memphis sports. He looks forward to be able to put his stamp on the upcoming stadium renovations and projects.

So far, Governor Bill Lee has recommended in his most recent budget proposal that Memphis should receive $350 million for stadium renovations. Lawmakers in Nashville will still have to approve the funds. This is a part of the $684 million that the city wants to use to renovate FedExForum, Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium, and AutoZone Park while also hoping to build a soccer stadium for 901FC.
