The Crone Law Firm’s client Marc Morris has been named the Dean of the College of Business and Analytics at Southern Illinois University! Dr. Morris will be the first ever African-American Dean of the College at the University. We are so proud of Dr. Morris accomplishing this great feat.

Originally from Carbondale, IL, he is a graduate of SIU acquiring an undergraduate degree, an MBA in finance, and a doctoral degree in business administration with a focus on accounting.

He is quoted in the SIU News section stating, “Growing up on the northeast side of Carbondale, I never dreamed of becoming dean of the College of Business and Analytics,” Morris said. “It is truly an honor and responsibility that I deeply cherish. I have always had a sincere desire to do the right thing and am moved by helping people be the most outstanding that they can be. As dean, I will continue to strive for ways to encourage, support and recognize excellence in others.”

Business attorney Alan Crone helped negotiate this hire for Dr. Morris. Alan specializes in getting people back to work, and he’s so proud to be able to help Dr. Morris make this tremendous accomplishment. “It is so important for their to be diversity in university leadership,” Crone said. “I’m so proud of Dr. Morris and SIU for making this happen. This is a great new era for the SIU College of Business and Analytics.”
